[edit]For those who wish to read early Quaker writings, Barclay together with Isaac Pennington are amongst the more accessible. Others with more familiar names can be too rambling and referential for modern taste `
- Fox and Nayler (and the other early ones) are quite rambling, ecstatic, and so on, but there are also substative differences in content, not just style, between them and the second generation (e.g. Barclay, Penn, Penington). Barclay was still a little bit Calvinist, for example. --Zach 03:11, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
If anyone is interested, I just started a Quaker WikiProject, which can be found at WP:WQ or Wikipedia:WikiProject Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Zach 00:29, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
